The role

We currently have an opportunity for an aggregates lab/field tester to join our NATA accredited team on a permanent full-time basis working at the Narangba Laboratory. This is a unique chance for you to expand your sampling and testing skills and gain practical hands-on experience throughout multiple Quarry’s and projects across the southeast Queensland area. Working at the Narangba in the laboratory, this position will see you gain exposure to the compliance testing of aggregates, sands and road base. Your primary duties will include a broad range of field sampling, testing, equipment calibration and computer-based analysis.

This position requires a Monday to Friday roster with some out of hours and weekend work.

Responsibilities

  • Sample and test aggregate materials in the lab and the field
  • Analyse and report accurate results
  • Adhere to procedures and work systems
  • Perform equipment calibration and basic maintenance
  • Ensure workplace health and safety standards are maintained

 What you will need to succeed

  • Experience in a similar sampling and testing role (highly regarded)
  • Experience with Main Roads testing standards (desirable)
  • Australian driver license (essential)
  • Certificate III in Laboratory Skills or Cert IV in Laboratory Techniques (desirable)
  • Construction Industry White Card (desirable)
  • Strong analytical thinking skills
