About the role:

As an Account Manager at Hostplus you will be responsible for the conservation of the existing employer and member base of the fund, concentrating on a key account allocation within your nominated region. Whilst also contributing to the growth strategy of the fund.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Retention and growth of an employer/member portfolio through various servicing and engagement activities
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and business partners
  • Attend industry and partner events, conferences and awards programs, as required. This will include a limited number of evening and weekend events across the year
  • Develop and maintain strong and valued B2B relationships at all levels of seniority within allocated portfolio of clients
  • Input into the development and execution of an annual state and individual business plan
  • Completion of quarterly service operational reporting as relates to employer and member service levels
  • Delivery and execution of formalised client Engagement Strategies to all employer accounts
  • Identify and develop opportunities and maintain relationships with prospective employers as well as ensuring the smooth transition of any large new business
  • Maintain accurate and timely client records within the CRM system following visits (and key interactions) to key account employers and members in accordance with the AFSL
  • Organisation and delivery of education programs for employers/members at their workplace or via digital methods
  • Promotion of all Hostplus whole of fund campaigns to portfolio of clients, as well as providing feedback on their effectivenes

About you:

  • Proven ability to develop and implement successful account management and sales strategies, including the development and growth of strong B2B relationships
  • Strong technical proficiency in all matters superannuation
  • Knowledge of the industrial relations environment and superannuation issues (e.g., State/Federal Awards and EBA’s)
  •  Knowledge necessary to be an authorised representative
  • Ability to analyse and understand employer and member data and communicate these insights and trends to relevant parties both internally and externally  
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (including report writing skills)
  • Confident presentation and public speaking skills to medium and large groups
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to work both autonomously and as part of a tea
  •  Strong Commercial acumen, Influencing & negotiation skills
  • Account Managers will undertake ongoing training required to be an approved representative of Hostplus. This is compulsory to comply with the ASIC regulatory requirement RG146 to allow approved representatives to provide general financial advice under the Hostplus Australian Financial Services License
  • Maintain all requirements necessary to hold a Proper Authority under the Hostplus Dealer’s License
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline is desirable
  • Diploma of Financial Planning is desirable
  • RG146 Accreditation is mandatory.
