About the role:

The Senior Advice Support Officer role is responsible for providing administration support to the Advice team, including handling initial member enquires, qualifying/triaging member’s advice needs, appointment setting, facilitating and overseeing requisite pre and post advice appointment actions and requirements, including the preparation and implementation of advice documents and completing other administrative activities to facilitate the efficient delivery of financial advice.

The SASO is also responsible for providing assistance to the Advice Support Manager in leading the advice support team where required, including but not limited to, the day-to-day management of the advice administration tasks with a focus on timeliness, quality assurance, efficiency and achieving high standards of service.

Some of your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Assist the Advice Support Manager to lead the advice support team where required, including but not limited to:
  • working in an efficient and collaborative manner with the Financial Planning and Advice teams to ensure the efficient delivery of financial advice services to members and the timely, accurate and compliant implementation and application of all client advice
  • Identify and introduce improvements to the client and administration processes
  • Ensure the allocation of work across the Advice Support team is fair and balanced.
  • Be responsible for ad hoc projects to enhance business processes, client acquisition and service delivery
  • Keep abreast of any compliance and regulatory changes that impact our advice services’ administration, compliance, management and business processes
  • As principal first point of contact for members seeking personal advice, assess and triage members’ requirements within agreed standards and processes, compliance and quality standards 
  • Assist members in the pre-advice process, including collating required information from the member
  • Determine type of advice (e.g. general, limited personal or comprehensive), scope and service package relevant for member needs
  • Schedule appointments for members to meet with either a Superannuation Adviser or Financial Planner
  • Brief members on advice process, fees and related information
  • Assist Superannuation Advisers and Financial Planners in their providing timely, high-quality, compliant advice to members 
  • Post appointment, assist in the follow-up of any required material needed for the completion of Statements of Advice

About you:

  • Previous experience in an administrative/associate role within a corporate environment (financial planning practice) and authorised to provide general advice is preferred, but not essential 
  • A demonstrated practical understanding of the personal financial planning advice process 
  • Strong interpersonal and oral and written communication skills 
  • Well-organised and demonstrated ability to prioritise tasks and work autonomously
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy and ability to work to and achieve deadlines 
  • Ability to liaise with all levels of the business including external stakeholders
  • Ability to work in a small team environment and willingness to assist others in the delivery of high quality customer service 
  • Prior experience and knowledge of financial planning software (XPLAN well regarded), or ability to quickly acquire this 
  • Experience and knowledge of corporate financial services, preferably in superannuation and/or financial planning or a comparable environment 
  • Advanced with MS Word, Outlook & PowerPoint and Excel

Essential: You have a Diploma of Financial Services (FP) or a tertiary qualification in a relevant field
