The opportunity

As the Head of Enterprise Risk, you will work closely with senior executives to ensure that the Fund’s risk management policies, procedures and frameworks are implemented effectively to manage and mitigate risk exposure. You will develop and embed the ongoing process for the identification, management and reporting of emerging risks within non-investment functions. Cross team collaboration will be important, especially with the Compliance and Legal teams, to ensure effective and efficient risk and compliance oversight as well as identification of ongoing improvements to the Hostplus Risk Management Framework.

Reporting into the Chief Risk Officer, you will play a lead role in supporting the Board, CEO and Group Executive in the Fund's strategic and business planning activities and ongoing assessment of risk. This will involve the preparation and presentation of Enterprise Risk reporting on risk management practices and emerging risks. Naturally, this role will also provide you with the opportunity to showcase your leadership capability in coaching and supporting the Risk team to deliver the Risk business plan.

About you

You will bring significant consulting and/or industry experience from within the financial services sector in a risk management or internal audit role coupled with strong experience in a strategic leadership role. You will have hands-on experience in the design and development of risk management frameworks and strategies. Further, working knowledge of assurance methodology, approach, techniques and management practices will be highly regarded.

As a senior risk management professional, you will also possess advanced technical knowledge of the Australian superannuation industry regulatory environment and emerging practice and concepts including a working knowledge of the Corporations Act, SIS Act and other applicable legislation.

On an interpersonal level, you will possess strong communication skills that allows you to communicate ideas with conviction and gain the buy-in of your stakeholders. As a self-starter, you will proactively engage and collaborate with stakeholders to agree on shared goals that deliver upon strategic and operational objectives.
