The opportunity
As a key member of our second line of defence (2LOD), you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting the implementation of sound governance frameworks and practices across the fund. Reporting to the Senior Manager – Governance & Office of the FAR, you’ll work closely with senior leaders, regulators, and internal stakeholders to ensure Hostplus remains a leader in governance excellence.
Some Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting corporate governance obligations and embedding industry best practices.
- Assisting with regulatory engagement, including submissions to APRA and ASIC.
- Maintaining key governance documents such as Trust Deeds, Charters, and Delegations of Authority.
- Supporting the Company Secretary and CEO’s office with governance-related activities.
- Managing governance records in the GRC system and advising on policy development.
- Preparing reports and submissions for the Audit Committee, Risk & Compliance Committee, and the Board.
- Coaching junior team members and contributing to a culture of continuous improvement.
About you
- 3–5 years’ experience in governance, compliance, or legal roles.
- Strong understanding of the financial services or superannuation industry.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Working knowledge of relevant legislation (e.g., Corporations Act, SIS Act, SPS 510/520/521) is highly desirable.
- A Bachelor of Laws or governance-related qualifications (preferred).
