About the role:

At Hostplus, we're dedicated to strengthening our data-driven operations. Joining our Strategy, Data & Analytics team means being at the forefront of driving our business transformation agenda. The Data and Analytics team operate as an internal centre of expertise for data and analytics. Working closely with various business units, we ensure seamless integration and effective utilization of data for strategic decision-making. By harnessing the power of data integration and advanced analytics, our objective is to achieve a comprehensive understanding of our members and employers, facilitating personalised experiences and superior retirement outcomes for everyday Australians.  

As a Data Engineer, you'll play a key role in this mission, leading the delivery and management of resilient data pipelines and working with key business stakeholders to contribute to the development of innovative solutions that power our organizational growth. 

About you:

As a Data Engineer at Hostplus, you are a dynamic professional with a passion for delivering robust data integration solutions to meet the data needs of a fast-growing organisation.  

Some of the key capabilities and skills the successful candidate will possess: 

  • Proficient in developing and maintaining data integration solutions 
  • Strong technical expertise in Microsoft Azure, Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, and Snowflake 
  • Skilled in data architecture, modeling, and analysis for optimal performance 
  • Competent in SQL, Python, pySpark, and data & analytics applications such as SQL Server Management Studio and Azure Data Studio 
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and analyze large, complex datasets 
  • Sound knowledge of data governance principles and practices 
  • Experience in creating and managing business intelligence reports and dashboards 
  • Effective stakeholder engagement and vendor management skills 
  • Exceptional ability to present complex information clearly and logically 
  • Preferably experienced in the superannuation industry and Microsoft Azure/Snowflake environment 
  • Advantageous to have familiarity with Adobe Analytics
