How will you make an impact?

The Head of Risk Culture and Capability will make an impact by embedding a strong risk culture, enhancing risk awareness and capability across the organisation, and supporting strategic alignment with Hostplus’ Risk Management Strategy. 

The opportunity

Hostplus is seeking a strategic and visionary leader to drive a proactive and accountable risk culture across the organisation. As Head of Risk Culture and Capability, you will lead the development and implementation of frameworks and programs that embed risk thinking into every layer of the business, aligning with Hostplus’ values and regulatory expectations.

Some Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with senior leaders to embed risk thinking into everyday business decisions, strategic planning, and operations
  • Establish and monitor frameworks and metrics to assess risk culture maturity and identify opportunities for growth
  • Drive alignment with APRA and ASIC requirements, supporting governance and contributing to risk-related reporting
  • Champion collaboration across teams to embed consistent messaging and shared responsibility for risk management
  • Influence key stakeholders and lead change initiatives that foster openness, resilience, and continuous improvement in risk practices
  • Act as a trusted advisor, leveraging feedback and trends to evolve Hostplus’ approach to risk capability

About you

You are an experienced and influential leader in the financial services sector, with a strong background in risk, compliance, or internal audit. You have a proven track record of developing and embedding risk culture frameworks and 3LOD capability programs, supported by relevant tertiary and postgraduate qualifications in risk, compliance, or leadership. Known for your ability to engage senior stakeholders and drive cultural change, you bring strategic insight, credibility, and a passion for fostering a resilient, learning-oriented organisation.
