About the role:

The Risk Manager is primarily responsible for monitoring and management of Hostplus' risk management framework. As the Fund continues to grow at a rapid rate, there will be an emphasis on the continuous improvement of systems and processes that risk management utilise to perform its compliance obligations. Therefore, your ability to proactively engage business partners to identify and assess risk and control measures will be key to your success.

About you:

We're ideally looking for someone with demonstrated experience from a similar position within the financial services, management consulting, banking or superannuation sectors. You'll have a strong understanding of risk tools & frameworks to apply them within the business and well-developed stakeholder engagement skills critical to educating and supporting our leaders and people.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Work closely with the Head of Risk and Senior Risk Manager to operationalise the Risk Management Framework and Risk Management Strategy within Hostplus in line with legislative requirements and industry best practices
  • Play a key role in the implementation and ongoing management of the Hostplus GRC system
  • Work closely with Business Units to develop and maintain relevant risk registers
  • Plan and execute periodic risk and control self-assessments.
  • Assist with incident management process including management of policies and procedures, educating business units and developing a reporting framework.
  • Analyse breaches and incidents, associated impacts including assisting the business units in understanding root cause, identify systemic issues
  • Analysing risk information for systemic issues and providing innovative ways to improve controls
  • Lead and support, in collaboration with business stakeholders, the development and embedding of regulatory policies as relevant to risk
  • Maintenance of the Hostplus RMS / RMP including regular reviews, workshop and analysis through ongoing education and awareness ensure the business complies with its risk controls, policies and procedures
  • Provide support to Hostplus strategic projects
  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement of risk culture and in maturing the 3 lines of defence model at Hostplus through collaboration and open communication with all business units.
  • Assist the Head of Risk as needed with reporting to Business Units, Executives, Board and Risk Committees as required
  • Assist in other related areas of Risk Management as required to meet business needs
