We’re seeking a Manager – Technology Controls Assurance to join our second line of defence (2LOD) and play a pivotal role in ensuring our technology and cyber risk practices are robust, compliant, and resilient. This is your opportunity to influence the security and integrity of systems that support millions of Australians.

Some Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and execute independent assurance reviews of technology and cyber security controls.
  • Evaluate the design and operational effectiveness of internal controls in line with Hostplus’ Risk Management and Control Assurance Frameworks.
  • Collaborate with 1LOD, Enterprise Risk & Compliance, and Internal Audit to develop and deliver the annual assurance plan.
  • Provide expert guidance and actionable recommendations to uplift control environments and mitigate risk.
  • Report on key assurance outcomes, including areas such as vulnerability management, incident response, identity and access management, and third-party oversight.
  • Support executive reporting to the Audit Committee, Risk & Compliance Committee, and the Board.
  • Mentor and guide team members within the Risk & Compliance Frameworks & Assurance team.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of Hostplus’ risk culture and maturity.

About you

  • 5 years of experience in technology and cyber risk advisory, assurance, or risk reviews.
  • Advanced knowledge of CPS 234, GITC assurance, and root cause analysis.
  • Strong understanding of the Australian financial services and superannuation regulatory landscape.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Proven ability to write clear, concise, and impactful reports.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience within superannuation or financial services highly regarded.
