The Opportunity

Our Emerald Branch has an exciting opportunity for a Workshop Based Heavy Equipment Diesel Fitter to join the Service team. This role is a permanent fulltime position which will require you to focus on all aspects of HD mechanics and fitting. You will be in charge of working in with all aspects of diagnostic, maintenance and repairs on our world class machinery.

Reporting to the Field Service Co-ordinator, your main responsibilities include;

  • Maintain Quality Control of workshop repairs and new machine assembly.
  • Oversee apprentices and assist with training.
  • Carry out repairs and servicing to customer machines in Emerald workshop and field.
  • Work on a wide range of machinery, from small construction to large earthmoving and mining.
  • Perform diagnostics and condition evaluation of machines and components.
  • Assist with technical advice, job estimation and reporting.
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities within your area of responsibility.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

About You

  • Ensure the HCA Safety Culture is embraced, displayed and driven from within - safety takes priority over everything else
  • Hold relevant Australian (or Australian recognised) Mobile Plant, Fitter Machinist or Heavy Diesel trade qualifications or Experienced Light Vehicle Mechanic looking to move into mining and construction machinery industry or you have just completed mobile plant apprenticeship and you are looking to learn OEM machinery
  • Ability to be technical and mechanically experience / aptitude
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work autonomously or as part of a team
  • Having experienced within a similar role or in a workshop environment would be highly advantageous
