Background
Bright Smiles, Bright Futures (BSBF) is a children's oral health improvement program, based in over 80 countries across the world. In the United States, the program has a fleet of eight mobile van units that travel to over 1,000 different cities in a typical year. We are looking to expand our Team to serve communities in the United States with Onsite and Virtual Van Visits focused on oral health and wellbeing. Visits will involve working on the mobile van unit to visit schools, summer camps, community centers, and events to increase access to care and oral health awareness, particularly for underserved populations
We are currently seeking an independent-contracted Dentist to support our team. The position includes providing visual screenings, conducting oral health education, and offering treatment referrals for children up to age twelve. This role also includes outreach to our network of community partners. The position offers both a flexible onsite and remote work environment. Weekend work, travel, some overnight, required.
Skills/Experience
- Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD) degree from a dental program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation
- A state license to practice dentistry
- Patience when dealing with patients
- Ability to communicate with patients regarding their health and care
- Good attention to detail
- Able to work with hands in small spaces
- Good problem-solving skills
- Understanding of logistics and event coordination
- Ability to travel 1 week per month/2 weekends per month
- Reliable mode of transportation
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong commitment to promote health and help others
- Prior experience in community programs
- Office management and computer skills/Google Suite
