The opportunity:
Reporting to the Group Financial Controller (GFC), this permanent full-time position operates at a national level and is responsible for managing a small team to carry out all necessary tasks, activities, analysis and regulatory requirements to complete monthly and annual financial reporting across a range of Hindmarsh entities. This position works alongside and supports operational teams in the business with financial analysis and capital raising activities.
Key activities include:
- Accurately completing monthly and annual financial reporting across multiple Hindmarsh entities and business areas with a focus on the Development, Corporate and Retirement business units.
- Preparing cash flows, budgets and forecasts.
- Assisting the Group Financial Controller with group consolidations and tax.
- Reviewing BAS and FBT returns.
- Assisting the Group Financial Controller with group consolidations and tax.
- Supporting the Group Financial Controller, Chief Financial Officer and CEO of the Retirement business unit in management of tax and other financial compliance activities.
- Leading and developing a small team of junior and mid-level Accountants.
- Supporting non-finance managers to assist with financial analysis and insight
- Identifying opportunities for system and process improvements.
To be considered, you will possess the following skills and experience:
- Degree in Accounting, Commerce or Finance
- Professional Qualification of CPA and/or CA
- Team management skills
- Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, time management and ability to multi-task effectively
- Exceptional Microsoft Excel skills and competency in the use of Word and Outlook
- A good understanding of the financial compliance around recording activities for commercial entities in respect of GST, FBT and PAYG
- High competency in all aspects of general ledger and subsidiary ledger on larger Finance (ERP) systems (e.g. CHEOPS, SAP, Oracle or Finance One)
- Desirable skills include: Previous experience in the property development and/or retirement industries and Project Accounting experience.
