Hindmarsh is seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to join our growing Adelaide team and lead the commercial outcomes of a $65 million mixed-use development being delivered in partnership with Renewal SA.

Contracts Managers at Hindmarsh are responsible for leading project commercial outcomes through effective head contract management, procurement strategy, subcontractor management and commercial risk leadership. As the commercial lead on the project, you will work closely with the Project Manager and site leadership team to maximise performance, manage risk and deliver successful project outcomes from procurement through to completion.

Reporting to the Project Manager and working closely with senior project stakeholders, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading head contract and subcontract administration across project delivery
  • Developing and implementing procurement strategies and managing major subcontractor packages
  • Identifying, managing and mitigating commercial and contractual risks
  • Managing client and subcontractor claims, variations and extension of time processes
  • Monitoring project financial performance including cashflow, forecasting and cost control
  • Preparing and presenting commercial reports to project and business leadership
  • Leading commercial compliance, contract reviews and project audits
  • Mentoring and developing Contract Administrators, Cadets and commercial team members
  • Supporting project teams with commercial strategy, negotiation and dispute resolution

We are looking for team members who have:

  • 10+ years' commercial construction experience, ideally within a head contractor environment
  • Demonstrated experience managing commercial outcomes on medium to large-scale construction projects
  • Strong knowledge of contract law principles, construction legislation and Security of Payment requirements
  • Experience leading commercial teams and mentoring developing professionals
  • Strong negotiation, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills
  • Experience using CHEOPS, Aconex and similar construction software
