The Opportunity

We’re looking for an experienced and people-focused Operations Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our three retirement villages across Canberra. This is a rewarding leadership opportunity where you’ll play a key role in creating welcoming, vibrant communities that residents are proud to call home.

In this role, you will inspire a positive workplace culture built on collaboration, respect, accountability, and exceptional service. Leading by example, you’ll build strong relationships with residents, staff, families, and stakeholders while ensuring our villages operate smoothly, safely, and efficiently.

You’ll oversee operational performance, support and mentor team members, manage budgets, and drive high standards of resident experience and service delivery. Most importantly, you’ll help foster communities where older Australians feel valued, connected, and supported.

About You

You are a confident and compassionate leader with strong operational and people management skills. You thrive in customer-focused environments and are passionate about delivering outstanding service and creating positive experiences for others.

You will bring:

  • Proven experience leading and developing teams in a customer service environment
  • Sound knowledge of Workplace Health & Safety practices and compliance
  • Understanding of the needs of older people, including awareness of common health concerns such as dementia, mental health, and cancer
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Financial acumen, including budgeting and operational cost management
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and Teams
  • A proactive, organised, and solutions-focused approach

Desirable Experience:

  • Understanding of Retirement Village legislation and compliance requirements
  • Previous experience within Retirement Living, Aged Care, Hospitality, or a related service industry
