The opportunity
This permanent full-time position is responsible for provision of general accounting services for our national business, including month & year end processing, associated journals and account reconciliations, analysis and preparation of reporting information.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Accurately completing monthly and annual financial reporting across multiple Hindmarsh entities and business areas.
- Preparing cash flows, budgets and forecasts.
- Undertake analysis on project costings, spend and forecasts and provide insight to both business partners and Finance Manager.
- Assisting the Finance Manager with group consolidations, tax, compliance and audit activities.
- Prepare all BAS, FBT, superannuation, work cover and payroll tax returns and supporting work papers for business entities to which they are assigned.
- Prepare reconciliations on a monthly basis (or as otherwise directed) for all General Ledger items related to the business entities to which they are assigned.
- Supporting in management of tax and other financial compliance activities.
- Identifying opportunities for system and process improvements.
- Provide other assistance and support to the Finance Manager and as requested.
Requirements
We are looking for a candidate who has:
- Degree in Accounting, Commerce or Finance
- Professional Qualification of CPA/CA/CIMA (or working towards completion)
- Competent in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
- Advanced understanding of the financial compliance around recording activities for commercial entities in respect of GST, FBT and PAYG
- Competent in all aspects of general ledger and subsidiary ledger on larger Finance (ERP) systems such as CHEOPS, SAP, Oracle or Finance One
Previous experience in the construction, property, or retirement industries will be highly regarded.
