We’re the Health Insurance Fund of Australia, but our friends call us HIF and we have an exciting part-time opportunity for a Contracts Consultant to join our Finance team. The aim of this role is to ensure that HIF’s contracting and procurement practices are compliant and thorough and continue to evolve along with contemporary practice. This represents an exciting opportunity for an individual that has considerable experience in contracts and procurement that is looking for a part-time role that offers flexibility, work life balance and the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of contracts and procurement.

About the role

We are looking for a great communicator to drive the continued development of the contracts function within HIF. The focus of this role will include hands-on leading of the contracts and procurement function, managing tendering processes, contract negotiations, ensuring CPS230 compliance, contract register maintenance, service level agreement monitoring and best practice supplier and contractor engagement. This is a part time position (0.6 to 0.8 FTE), with flexible hours: options include shorter days across the week, or 3 to 4 full days. We are happy to discuss what works best for you.

What we're looking for in you

• Contractual and commercial negotiation experience.
• Experience of end-to-end procurement and supplier lifecycle processes, including competitive tendering processes.
• Flexibility and a willingness and desire to help others grow in their contracts and procurement knowledge.
• Ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels with proven effective and professional written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task and deliver to deadlines.
• Exceptional attention to detail and strong problem-solving ability.
• A positive, can do attitude.

Desirable:

• A legal background and an understanding of APRA requirements particularly CPS 230 will be advantageous although not essential
