About the role:

We are looking for an individual who wants to take their skills to the next level in this permanent full-time opportunity. If you are passionate about promoting the visibility and awareness of, and responsibility and accountability for risk management within HIF, then read on.

Join our Risk and Compliance (RC) team as a Risk Consultant, where you’ll play a key role in driving the implementation and continuous improvement of HIF’s Risk Management Framework across the organisation.

The role centres around delivering the following:

• Identify, analyse, evaluate and manage risk exposures and collaborate with relevant stakeholders to support informed business decisions.
• Support the ongoing management of risks and controls, including tracking actions, and addressing control deficiencies or inefficiencies.
• Provide periodic assurance over key controls to assess effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Contribute to business improvement initiatives that support a mature and proactive risk culture.
• Assist with maintaining relevant policies and procedures, as well as the risk management information system.
• Assist with the co-ordination of internal audit reviews and monitor the status of audit findings.
• Deliver risk management support, training and education across the business.
• Assist with the preparation and contribute to appropriate reporting for HIF’s Leadership Team and Board Audit and Risk Committees.

What we're looking for in you:

These are some essential things we will look for:

• Excellent communication skills and an ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders across the business.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing risk.
• Proven experience in developing, implementing and continuously improving enterprise-wide risk management frameworks.
• Experience in risk assessment, mitigation and remediation strategies.
• Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications.
• Skilled in drafting and maintaining policies and procedures.
• Sound understanding of private health insurance regulatory requirements, or experience in the financial services sector or other highly regulated industries.
• A minimum of 2+ years’ experience in a risk-related role.
