Sales Assistant

Haymes Paint Coolum is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Full-Time Sales Assistant to join our team.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys building strong customer relationships and has a genuine passion for supporting and growing the automotive and industrial coatings segment. If you have industry experience and thrive in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same, we'd love to hear from you.

Working closely with trade and retail customers, you'll play an important role in delivering outstanding service, providing technical advice, and helping customers find the right solutions for their projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service and product advice to trade and retail customers.
• Promote and grow sales within the automotive and industrial coatings segment.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing customers while identifying new business opportunities.
• Assist customers with product selection, colour matching, and coating solutions.
• Process sales and customer orders both in-store and over the phone.
• Support inventory management, including stock receiving, replenishment, and stocktakes.
• Maintain high standards of store presentation and merchandising.
• Assist with local deliveries when required.
• Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety procedures.

About You

• Previous experience in the paint, coatings, automotive refinishing, industrial coatings, or related industry is highly preferred.
• A passion for sales and building long-term customer relationships.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A proactive attitude with the ability to identify and pursue sales opportunities.
• Experience in a customer service or trade sales environment.
• Confidence using POS systems and computer technology.
• Experience with stock handling and merchandising.
• Ability to perform manual handling tasks, including lifting up to 15kg.
• Current driver's licence required.
• A willingness to learn, grow, and contribute to a successful team environment.
