This role is being offered as permanent full-time.

Reporting to the General Manager, Capital Projects your role as Project & Retail Design Manager, is to to ensure that Hawaiian’s assets, including those of its tenants, are presented in a way that maximises their built environment impact.

Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Work with General Managers to develop ideas into project briefs, tenancy fitout/design guidelines for assessment and implementation.
  • Produce design concepts for smaller projects such that these can be implemented.
  • Work with Project Managers (internal and external), Architects (external) and Interior Designers (external) to oversee and critique design aspects and elements throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Over time, raise the presentation standard of Hawaiian’s assets to deliver a high-quality look and feel.
  • Complete efficient and accurate site audits.
  •  Schematic planning.
  • Create visual presentation material, together with costings where relevant
  • Tenancy Coordination - provide design support to Hawaiian’s tenancy coordination team as it relates to design matters.
  • Tenancy Inspection Reports (TIRs) - undertake shop design reviews (Shop Inspection Report) of existing premises and make upgrade recommendations to Leasing for inclusion in lease renewal terms and conditions.
  • Tenant fit out plans - approve tenancy designs for new leases and lease renewals to ensure they align to an asset’s vision and surrounding environment. Consider whether the level of incentive offered is being best spent to maximise the output of Hawaiian’s contribution. Liaise with tenants and tenant-appointed designers as necessary to achieve a win-win outcome.

Qualification Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline of Architecture or equivalent.
  • Experience delivering interior design / architectural projects in retail, hospitality, commercial or related fields.
  • Strong ability to use AutoCAD, Revit, Sketch up and Creative Suite.
  • Strong knowledge of the requirements of BCA/NCC, Australian Standards and Local Government/Certification bodies.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects in a dead-line oriented environment.
  • Experience in managing and working with multi-disciplinary teams.
