An outstanding opportunity has arisen within our Human Resources team to undertake the newly created role of Training & Development Manager on a full-time contract to 30 June 2024, with the possibility of extension and/or permanency.

The role will report to the General Manager, Human Resources and will provide effective and efficient research and the design of training programs, along with facilitating, delivering, reporting, maintaining and evaluating, internal and external training programs, resources and materials for Hawaiian Staff.

Essential Duties

Essential duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Assist with the development, collection and analysis of staff Workforce Development Plans and monitor and report on the progress
  • Research, design and develop internal training and development programs, presentations, seminars and workshops to meet staff needs 
  • Conduct research to identify, evaluate, source and engage external facilitators or presenters to deliver technical or customised solutions that address staff training and development needs within approved priorities, parameters and delegations
  • Facilitate, deliver and support internal training and development programs, presentations, seminars and workshops based on staff needs
  • Ensure written communications, materials and reports are timely, accurate and comply with Hawaiian brand and style guidelines
  • Ensure that articles, resources and other publications used are accurate and comply with publishing guidelines
  • Evaluate and report on internal and external training and development programs, presentations, seminars and workshops undertaken for staff training and development
  • Conduct regular review and ongoing maintenance of all relevant training and development materials and resources (across all mediums or formats) that are offered to staff, making recommendations when required
  • Manage and maintain databases or systems to gather and analyse statistical information on current training and development systems and processes to set benchmarks, assess effectiveness, identify trends, realise benefits and inform decision making
  • Conduct analysis and make recommendations based on evidence, thinking laterally to innovate or improve the work practices, systems and processes relevant to your role

Qualification Requirements

  • Possession of or progress towards an appropriate training and development qualification
  • Proven experience in the development, delivery and review of professional development or learning and development programs
  • Experience using multimedia production tools and a range of personal computer applications including Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint and other web-based products.
