Job no: C3R6E

This is a hands-on, learning-first role working alongside our Head of Food Safety across our 30+ store operation. You'll move beyond textbook compliance and into real retail environments, seeing how food safety connects to buying decisions, cold chain management, store operations, and team culture. You'll be taught, mentored, and trusted with real work from day one.

What You'll Do

  • Observe and assist with food safety audits across our stores; learn to spot risks before they become problems
  • Support the Head of Food Safety in reviewing HACCP plans, cold chain protocols, allergen management, and food safety documentation
  • Help identify where food safety standards and operational reality meet — and where gaps exist
  • Work with store teams to understand their food safety responsibilities and compliance requirements in practical terms
  • Assist with food safety training delivery and inductions for new team members
  • Gather data and support reporting on food safety compliance across our operation
  • Learn to read and interpret Australian food safety standards and regulations in context

About You

We're looking for someone with:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Food Science & Technology, Environmental Health, Food Safety, or related discipline
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking mindset — you can break down complex information and ask smart clarifying questions
  • Attention to detail and genuine curiosity about how systems protect customers
  • Familiarity with Australian food safety standards, or willingness to learn them quickly
  • Clear communication skills — you can explain technical concepts in plain English to people without your background
  • Comfort with data and reporting — spreadsheets don't intimidate you
  • Recent graduate or early-career professional (0–2 years in the field)
  • A genuine interest in food safety and compliance, not just a job

Retail or hospitality background is a bonus, but what matters more is your willingness to learn and your analytical mindset.
