EMPLOYEE RELATIONS ADVISOR — SUPPORT OFFICE (SYDNEY)

Behind every fair, defensible decision at Harris Farm Markets, there's someone who did the quiet work first, asked the right questions, chased down the evidence, and made sure nobody got a raw deal. That could be you.

About the Role

As our Employee Relations Advisor, you'll be the operational backbone of every ER matter across Harris Farm, investigations, performance issues, grievances, disputes and terminations. You'll work closely with the Head of Business Partnering & Employment Relations and the HRBP team, turning complex, sensitive situations into clear, well-documented, defensible outcomes. This is a genuine learning role, you'll build real expertise in modern awards, natural justice and Fair Work compliance as you go, working cases alongside people who've done this for years.

 What You'll Do

  • Coordinate ER matters, investigations, performance issues, grievances, disputes, terminations, from initial brief through to resolution or escalation
  • Work with HRBPs and Store Managers to gather information, assess natural justice questions, and identify legal or compliance risks early
  • Schedule and attend investigation meetings, conduct interviews fairly, take accurate notes, and preserve evidence appropriately
  • Track case timelines, deadlines and status so nothing falls through the cracks
  • Build and maintain comprehensive case files, evidence, interview notes, correspondence, decision documents, all organised and accessible
  • Draft findings documents and case briefs for HRBPs to use when advising managers or implementing decisions
  • Learn and apply modern awards (GRIA, SSW, etc.) to case decisions, flagging when a decision might breach award entitlements
  • Maintain confidentiality rigorously and manage communication boundaries properly
  • Keep HRIS data accurate for compliance reporting

What You’ll Bring

We're looking for someone with:

  • Some experience with investigations, case management or workplace inquiries, even informal experience counts
  • Experience gathering information, conducting interviews, or managing evidence (retail loss prevention, security, audit or similar backgrounds all welcome)
  • Strong written communication, you document conversations, findings and evidence clearly and logically
  • An analytical mindset, you can work through complex information, spot patterns, and separate facts from claims
  • Fair-mindedness, you hold different perspectives equally and don't jump to conclusions before you have the evidence
  • Good interviewing skills, you ask good questions, listen more than you talk, and take accurate notes without leading
  • A background in HR, compliance or investigative work is helpful but not essential, we'll teach you the ER-specific knowledge

You're Hungry to learn ER, modern awards and Fair Work. You're Humble enough to ask questions before you assume, and to escalate risks early. And you're Smart, you follow the evidence and the process, not gut feel, because you understand that behind every case is a real person who deserves fairness.
