About the Role

As the Warehouse QA Officer, you will be responsible for inspecting inbound fruit, vegetables, and perishable products, coordinating receiving traffic, and supporting quality outcomes across warehouse and store operations.

This is a hands-on role with strong cross-functional interaction across Buying, Warehouse Operations, and Suppliers.

Key Responsibilities 🥕📦

  • Inspect all inbound produce and perishable goods against HFM quality standards
  • Validate received quantities for each delivery
  • Apply SSCC pallet labels as issued by the receiving office
  • Direct put-away of produce and perishables to correct locations, including:
  • Priority 1, Standard, and Quality Hold zones
  • Chiller (2–4°C) and Freezer (-24°C) environments
  • Communicate quality issues clearly with Buying teams
  • Promote and maintain a safe work environment
  • Conduct store audits using standard HFM audit methodology, including competitor benchmarking
  • Prepare written audit reports for the Buying Office
  • Liaise with Warehouse Service Providers, suppliers, and internal teams to resolve issues promptly
  • Support pallet exchange processes and minimise pallet loss
  • Contribute positively to a collaborative warehouse team environment

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Experience in quality assurance within food, produce, or FMCG environments
  • Knowledge of QA terminology, methods, and tools
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • High level of computer literacy, including database use
  • Relevant certification such as Six Sigma, Quality Auditor, or similar (desirable)
  • Strong communication skills and confidence engaging with multiple stakeholders
