Head of Centralised Retail Operations

You've built standards before but have you ever built the operating system an entire retail network runs on?

Harris Farm is scaling from 35 stores to 50 by FY30, and this role is central to making sure growth doesn't cost us the standard our name is built on. As Head of Centralised Retail Operations, you'll own the Retail Playbook, the Store Manager development pipeline, and the store communications architecture that determine whether every store, regardless of region or Store Manager tenure, performs to the same standard. This isn't an advisory seat. You're the architect.

What You'll Do

• Own the HFM Retail Playbook as the group operating standard, content, version control and accessibility across every store
• Translate the five Playbook disciplines into practical tools and checklists store leaders can apply independently
• Own the Area Manager deep-dive inspection system as the primary group quality tool
• Own the group-wide capability framework, curriculum and phase-gate assessments for the Store Manager and Trainee Store Manager pipeline
• Run the daily Store Bulletin as the single operational communications vehicle, coordinating inputs across Buying, Loss Prevention, Safety and HR
• Partner with the EGM in shaping retail strategy, contributing to how it's formed, not just how it lands
• Own the operational standards driving Availability and Total Loss outcomes across the network
• Lead, develop and manage the CoE team - Ops Coordinators, Store Communications Coordinator and Standards & Reporting Analyst

What You’ll Bring

We're looking for someone with significant senior-level retail operations experience — fresh food, grocery or high-complexity multi-site retail strongly preferred. Beyond that, we're looking for:

• Prior experience operating at store or area management level
• A track record of building operational systems, standards frameworks or playbooks at scale
• Systems thinking, you see the whole before the parts, and build for the exception as well as the average
• A collaborative, influencing leadership style, you work through Regional and Area Managers, not around them
• Field-grounded instincts, you spend time in stores and test standards against real conditions
• Strong fruit and vegetable knowledge is highly regarded
