As a Harris Farm Area Manager, you’ll take the reins of several regional stores, driving performance, inspiring your Store Managers, growing talent, and delivering a market experience that’s bursting with freshness, abundance, and energy. You’ll coach, mentor, and empower your teams to deliver strong sales performance and unforgettable customer experiences, all while living our Harris Farm values.

The Role

The Area Manager is responsible for maximising the financial return of an area group of stores. You’ll lead a team of Store Managers to achieve budgets, deliver excellence in customer experience, and foster a work culture consistent with the Harris Farm Markets Core Values.

This is achieved by mentoring and coaching store teams to develop their skills in both retailing and people leadership ensuring the highest standards of customer service and maintaining Harris Farm Markets reputation for only selling the freshest and best quality produce.

You’ll play a pivotal role in delivering operational excellence, developing future leaders, and keeping our markets fresh, abundant, and full of life every day.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Experience

  • Lead your store teams to deliver products our customers love, fresh, high quality, and great value.
  • Ensure produce is at its peak and available when and where customers want it.
  • Drive innovation in-store and continually improve the customer shopping experience.

Profitability

  • Drive the achievement of market budgets and KPIs, implementing measures to minimise waste.
  • Engage and motivate teams to improve productivity and deliver outstanding customer service.
  • Analyse business performance and identify opportunities for growth, efficiency, and profitability.

People

  • Develop a team of enthusiastic experts who love working at Harris Farm Markets.
  • Mentor and coach Store Managers, building capability, confidence, and engagement.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and teamwork across all stores.

Compliance

  • Ensure smooth operations through adherence to all systems, policies, and processes.
  • Maintain compliance with workplace health and safety, food safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Uphold and role-model HFM’s values and culture across every store.

Required Skills and Knowledge

  • Demonstrated FMCG or multi-site retail management experience.
  • Proven team leadership and people development skills.
  • Strong planning, organisational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written.
  • Commercially astute with sound understanding of P&L management.
  • Confident using digital tools and computer literate (MS Office, retail systems).
