TRAINEE STORE MANAGER | HARRIS FARM MARKETS

Step into leadership. Grow with a business that’s fresh, fast-paced, and full of flavour.

At Harris Farm Markets, we do fresh food differently. We’re a proudly family-owned Australian business with over 40 years of retail experience and a reputation for quality, sustainability, and innovation. With 30+ stores across NSW, ACT and QLD (and growing), we’re on a mission to make great food more accessible, and more exciting for every Australian.

We’re now looking for passionate, hands-on and driven Trainee Store Managers to join our teams. If you're ready to step up, build your leadership skills and grow into a future Store Manager, this is your opportunity.

The Role

As a Trainee Store Manager, you’ll work closely with the Store Manager to learn the ins and outs of running a high-performing retail store. From team leadership and operations to merchandising, compliance and delivering an outstanding customer experience.

You’ll be part of our structured Trainee Store Manager Program, which combines on-the-job coaching with off-the-floor development, tailored to your pace and experience. This is a stepping-stone to bigger opportunities within Harris Farm, and we’ll support you every step of the way.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Store Manager with day-to-day operations, including rosters, team performance, and store presentation.
  • Lead by example, championing our values and creating a positive, inclusive team culture.
  • Maintain high standards across merchandising, stock control, food safety and compliance.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and help your team do the same.
  • Contribute to sales performance by helping drive store KPIs (NPS, eNPS, wage targets, shrink/margin).
  • Take ownership of store standards, from cleanliness and ticketing to uniform and product quality.
  • Play a key role in staff onboarding, development planning, and team engagement.
  • Support the execution of in-store events and seasonal campaigns.

About You

  • You bring previous retail or supervisory experience and a passion for stepping up.
  • You’re confident, proactive and people-focused, a natural motivator and communicator.
  • You’re hands-on, reliable, and ready to tackle whatever the day throws at you.
  • You care about doing things well, from food quality to compliance, you don’t cut corners.
  • You align with our values of quality, integrity, sustainability and community.

Why Harris Farm?

  • A vibrant, growing business with strong values and a clear purpose.
  • A culture that recognises and develops potential as we encourage and like to promote from within.
  • Staff discounts you’ll genuinely love.
  • Be part of a business that supports local growers, champions sustainability, and makes food retail feel good again.
