Hanrob Mascot (Sydney Airport)

Animal Attendant/Reception/Transport (Pet Boarding)

At Hanrob Pet Hotels, we're passionate pet people delivering health, happiness and wellbeing to Aussie pet families. With over 40 years of experience and a national presence, we're proud to be one of Australia's leading providers of pet boarding and daycare services.

We're currently looking for a Casual Animal Attendant to join our team at Hanrob Mascot, conveniently located near Sydney Airport.

This is a varied, hands-on role that goes beyond animal care — you'll also support our front-of-house reception, and drive our pet transport vehicle when required, making every day a little different. If you're an animal lover who thrives in a dynamic environment and loves working across multiple areas of a business, we'd love to hear from you.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Caring for boarding dogs and cats through feeding, cleaning, exercise and enrichment
  • Supervising dogs and managing behaviours to maintain a safe and positive environment
  • Performing health checks and general animal husbandry tasks for both dogs and cats
  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the facility
  • Providing friendly customer service at reception, including managing bookings, greeting pet owners and handling drop-off and pick-up
  • Driving our pet transport vehicle to collect and deliver pets safely (valid driver's licence required)
  • Working collaboratively with the wider team to deliver exceptional care to every pet

What we’re looking for:

  • Genuine animal lovers who enjoy hands-on work with dogs and cats of all sizes and temperaments
  • A current, valid Australian driver's licence — essential for this role
  • Availability of a minimum 15 hours per week, including weekends (weekend availability is non-negotiable)
  • Reliable team players with a positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Comfortable working in a physically active, fast-paced environment
  • Confident communicators with a friendly and professional approach to customer service
  • Previous experience in animal care, pet retail, kennels, boarding or vet clinics is highly regarded but not essential
  • Qualifications in Animal Studies or Companion Animal Services (or currently studying) are desirable but not essential
  • Our Mascot location is not serviced by public transport during operating hours, so your own reliable transport to and from work is essential

Please note:

This is a physically demanding role that involves standing for long periods, lifting, bending, kneeling, walking and handling animals of varying sizes (up to 50kg). Team members work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions and must be comfortable interacting with pets, customers and fellow staff throughout their shift.

A Pre-Employment Medical Disclosure may be required to ensure applicants can safely perform the inherent requirements of the role.

Why Hanrob?

  • Work with pets every day
  • Join a supportive team of passionate animal lovers
  • Ongoing training and development opportunities
  • Potential for future career growth across our national network
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
  • Staff discounts on Hanrob services and products
