Hanrob Duffys Forest
Animal Attendant (Pet Boarding)
At Hanrob Pet Hotels, we’re passionate pet people delivering health, happiness and wellbeing to Aussie pet families. With over 40 years of experience and a national presence, we’re proud to be one of Australia’s leading providers of pet boarding and daycare services.
We’re currently looking for 4 Casual Animal Attendants to join our team at Hanrob Duffys Forest ahead of the busy upcoming school holiday period.
This is a fantastic opportunity for animal lovers looking to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced pet care environment. While these roles are initially focused on supporting our peak holiday season, team members who demonstrate strong performance, reliability and a great attitude may have the opportunity to remain with the business on an ongoing basis following the holiday period (with reduced hours).
Successful applicants must be available to work across weekdays, weekends and school holiday periods, with shifts starting as early as 7am.
What you’ll be doing:
- Caring for boarding and daycare pets through feeding, cleaning, exercise and enrichment
- Supervising dogs and managing behaviours to maintain a safe and positive environment
- Performing health checks and general animal husbandry tasks
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the facility
- Providing friendly customer service to pet owners during drop-off and pick-up
- Working collaboratively with the wider team to deliver exceptional care to every pet
What we’re looking for:
- Genuine animal lovers who enjoy hands-on work with dogs of all sizes and temperaments
- Availability across weekends and throughout the school holiday period
- Reliable team players with a positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Comfortable working in a physically active, fast-paced environment
- Confident communicators with a friendly and professional approach
- Previous experience in animal care, pet retail, kennels, daycare or vet clinics is highly regarded but not essential
- Qualifications in Animal Studies or Companion Animal Services (or currently studying) are desirable but not essential
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions carefully
- Own reliable transport is essential, as public transport does not service our location during operating hours
Please note:
This is a physically demanding role that involves standing for long periods, lifting, bending, kneeling, walking and handling animals of varying sizes (up to 50kg). Team members work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions and must be comfortable interacting with pets, customers and fellow staff throughout their shift.
A Pre-Employment Medical Disclosure may be required to ensure applicants can safely perform the inherent requirements of the role.
