The Opportunity

Our Perth Clerkship Program is designed for penultimate year students who are looking to be immersed in the legal profession and begin building invaluable relationships, networks and skills that will last throughout your career.

During your clerkship, you’ll undertake rotations in two practice groups during our Summer and Winter intakes, or have the option of a three-week intensive rotation in a single practice group as part of our Summer 2 intake. You will work across a range of our dynamic practice areas including Corporate & Commercial, Workplace & Employment, Litigation, Banking & Finance, Mining & Resources and New Energy.

In each of your rotations, you will be allocated a supervising partner, coach and buddy, enabling you to work in a supportive and collaborative environment which will allow you to develop your legal skills.

You’ll gain hands-on experience working on real legal matters, which may include attending court hearings, participating in client meetings, conducting legal research, and contributing to complex legal transactions.

Upon completion of the Clerkship Program, you may be offered the opportunity to continue your Hamilton Locke journey as a Graduate.
