The Mechanical Assembler working under limited supervision, performs a variety of assembly operations associated with the manufacturing of explosive products, small mechanical or electro-mechanical parts, or equipment housing or large equipment such as engines, engine and PTO drive trains, gas compressors, control equipment, covers/cowlings, related connecting lines, etc.

  • Pay Rate: Up to $23.00/hour, depending on experience.
  • Assignment Length: 6-month contract with a high possibility of extension and/or conversion based on performance and other factors.

Job Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented individual to join our assembly team. This role involves a wide range of tasks, from standard fitting and mounting to complex troubleshooting and the handling of specialized explosive products. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills and the ability to maintain a safe, efficient manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform assembly processes, including fitting, mounting, alignment, and adjusting of components.
  • Conduct operational testing and repairs on various units.
  • Perform in-depth troubleshooting and diagnosing of equipment and products.
  • Provide training to other personnel within the department.
  • Hand-assemble detonating devices and other explosive products.
  • Operate and program semi-automated manufacturing presses and automated powder weighing machines.
  • Maintain and issue safety equipment as required.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Skills typically acquired through 2-3 years of related assembly experience.
