Accountant - Direct Hire (Onsite Houston, TX)

The Accountant under general supervision, understands the company's business systems, business processes and controls, including policies and procedures, relative to the location and department assigned.

• Salary: 100,000.00 per year

Responsibilities:

• Prepare accounting reports and conduct increasingly complex accounting analyses using spreadsheets and applications, identifying and resolving issues.
• Prepare and post journal vouchers for accounting transactions.
• Research and resolve basic accounting issues and transactions, including related internal controls.
• Develop proficiency in general accounting, internal controls, financial analysis and reporting, forecasting, and financial applications.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting.
• Minimum of 9 months of experience in accounting.
• CPA eligible and planning to obtain certification.
• Knowledge of US GAAP.
• Experience with Hyperion systems is a plus.
• Experience with SAP/S4 is a plus.
• Experience with Workiva is a plus.
• Strong critical thinking and analytical skills.
• Solid attention to detail, highly organized, and excellent time management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft applications, such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Understanding of the company's organizational structure.
