The Forklift Operator under strict supervision, responsible for Cleaning, preserving, rotating & storing equipment.
- Pay Rate: $20.00 - $24.00/hour, depending on experience
- Assignment Length: 12-month contract with a high possibility of extension and/or conversion based on performance and other factors.
- Shift Details: 40 Hrs. + possible overtime | Some weekends
Job Overview:
We are looking for a reliable and versatile individual to manage various warehouse and distribution functions. This role involves the loading and unloading of materials across multiple transport modes, operating specialized machinery like forklifts and track mobiles, and ensuring all documentation and maintenance tasks are handled with precision. The ideal candidate will be a safety-conscious professional dedicated to maintaining a clean, efficient environment and supporting the quality improvement process.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for daily warehouse operation functions, including various clean-up and housekeeping activities.
- Loads and unloads materials shipped and received by truck, barge, and rail.
- Performs daily preventative maintenance on forklifts.
- Fills in bills of lading with correct information.
- Verifies the condition and amount of all incoming products.
- Feeds and removes palletized material in the shrink wrap system.
- Performs various duties related to the distribution of products and various assignments as directed by the supervisor.
- Locates bulk and box cars with a track mobile for loading, unloading, and switching.
- Keeps finished product stored in designated areas.
- Promotes safety awareness and environmental consciousness, and complies with all applicable safety and environmental procedures and regulations.
- Ensures compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations and guidelines.
- Promotes and takes an active part in the quality improvement process.
- Performs other duties and activities as directed.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- A valid Driver's license is required.
- Experience working in an operations environment is preferred.
- Proficiency with forklifts and overhead cranes.
- Experience in material handling.
- Competent computer skills.
- Ability to use machinery and tools including standard hand tools, forklifts, and overhead cranes.
