The Cable Technician I under direct supervision, performs basic operations to test and repair downhole cable for submersible pumps and motor equipment.
- Pay Rate: Up to $22.00/hour, depending on experience.
- Assignment Length: 6-month contract with a high possibility of extension and/or conversion based on performance and other factors.
- Shift Details: 12 days on and 2 days off rotation, providing every other weekend off. The shift schedule alternates weekly:
- Week 1 (Working Weekend): Morning shift starting at 7:30 AM (typically concluding around 6:30 PM or upon task completion).
- Week 2 (Weekend Off): Afternoon shift starting at 2:00 PM and continuing until daily operations are concluded.
Responsibilities:
- Receives cable and carries out basic tests.
- Perform basic repairs and learn how to splice cable.
- Complete paperwork to send cable to inventory or the field.
- Learn all relevant company HSE policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate the application of HSE policies and procedures into daily duties.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Proficient in the safe and effective use of various hand and power tools.
- Capable of working extended hours on foot across diverse weather conditions.
- Quickly adjusts to abrupt changes in workflow and production demands.
- Maintains high accuracy and precision in all assigned tasks.
- Demonstrates strong verbal skills for clear team coordination.
- Follows complex written and verbal instructions with high reliability.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Basic reading comprehension and writing skills are required.
- Basic computer skills are preferred.
