The Tool Technician I under strict supervision, performs maintenance functions such as repairs on down-hole tools, surface equipment and other production equipment in the application for down-hole tools.
- Pay Rate: $18.00 - $20.00/hour, depending on experience
- Assignment Length: 6-month contract with a high possibility of extension and/or conversion based on performance and other factors.
- Shift Details: 7:00 am - 5:00 pm is the normal shift | currently 10 -12 hour with 24 hour on call |average 6 days a week.
Responsibilities:
- Assemble and disassemble down-hole tools, surface equipment, and other production equipment.
- Promote safety awareness and environmental consciousness by adhering to all safety and environmental procedures and regulations.
- Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) guidelines.
- Actively participate in the quality improvement process.
- Perform maintenance work on equipment.
- Follow instructions from printed guides and work under the supervision of a mentor during the initial months.
- Utilize machinery and tools such as pipe wrenches and torque machines.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Licensure to drive commercial equipment may be required.
- Effective communication skills.
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
- Basic reading, writing, and computer skills.
- Mechanical skills or experience is beneficial.
- Oil field experience is a plus but not required.
- Valid drivers license good to have but not required
- Comfortable working with used equipment in potentially dirty conditions.
