The Procurement Specialist under direct supervision, plans sourcing of goods and services to support manufacturing, field operations, technology, or project management strategic plans at the plant level.

  • Pay Rate: Up to $50.00/hour, depending on experience.
  • Assignment Length: 4-month contract with a high possibility of extension and/or conversion based on performance and other factors.
  • Shift Details: Day Shift | 8:00 am – 4:30 pm | 40-hours per week

Responsibilities:

  • Support sourcing and procurement activities across manufacturing, field operations, technology, and project management.
  • Issue purchase orders in direct response to material requirements established by manufacturing, field operations, or project teams.
  • Create Requests for Quotations (RFQs) and coordinate competitive bidding processes to secure the best quality, delivery, and pricing.
  • Implement agreements for local procurement of goods and services not covered under broader Category Management.
  • Execute and comply with established Category Management strategies, procurement policies, and procedures.
  • Manage local procurement activities in strict alignment with organizational guidelines.
  • Actively evaluate and assess supplier performance to ensure quality standards and delivery timelines are met.
  • Contribute directly to cost containment, operational efficiency, profitability, and overall procurement effectiveness.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of an undergraduate degree in a technical, business, or similar discipline required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in procurement or production environment.
  • Advanced procurement certification preferred (CPM, etc.).
  • Experience with SAP and other ERP systems preferred.
  • Purchase to Pay knowledge is desirable.
  • Strong computer skills (Excel, email, general systems proficiency).
  • Effective communication skills (phone and email).
  • Strong task and workload management abilities.
