The Associate Machine Operator working under close supervision, sets up, adjusts, and operates a variety of machine tools which may include numerical control/computerized numeric control lathes, mills, drills, computerized numerical control/numerical control and/or manual machines.
- Pay Rate: Up to $27.00/hour, depending on experience.
- Assignment Length: 3-month with a high possibility of extension and/or conversion based on performance and other factors.
- Shift Details: Night Shift |10 days on, 4 days off |Overtime on Fridays
Responsibilities:
- May be required to read blueprints, perform varying levels of shop mathematics associated with machining operations, and perform inspection procedures to verify work.
- Complete full machine setups and operate CNC Lathes and/or Mills efficiently.
- Safely move large parts and equipment using an industrial hoist.
- Use precision gages to inspect parts and ensure they meet strict tolerance requirements.
- Read and interpret complex industrial blueprints to guide the machining process.
- Select and identify the correct tools for each job, ensuring proper installation and wear monitoring.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Skills typically acquired through 1-2 years related machining experience.
- Must hold a valid Hoist Certification.
- Proven background in Lathe and/or Mill machining.
- Ability to operate and navigate multiple types of machining controls.
- Expertise in reading and identifying tooling.
- Advanced ability to interpret mechanical blueprints.
- Competency in using measurement gages for tolerance checks.
- Machinery/tools used: Mazak, Niigata, G&L, Moris, Trevisans.
