The Production Planner under direct supervision, is responsible for production order management and daily execution on the shop floor.
- Pay Rate: $28.00 - $31.33/hour, depending on experience.
- Assignment Length: 2-year contract with a high possibility of extension and/or conversion based on performance and other factors.
Job Overview:
This job is the first level in the Manufacturing Scheduling job family. At this level, the Production Planner has limited autonomy to deviate from established processes, but is expected to develop their understanding of the principles necessary to exercise such judgment at the upper levels of the Manufacturing Scheduling job family.
Responsibilities:
- The Production Planner receives training to be able to plan and schedule routine orders for their assigned product lines and to resolve related problems affecting delivery for short-term (<30 days) planning horizons.
- Performs release of production orders within acceptable guidelines, uses dispatch report to coordinate schedule execution, and performs inventory management functions to optimize material flow.
- This role will support multiple Technology R&D projects as a Planner.
- The project team creates bills of materials or identifies other items or services required to conduct the project.
- The Planner will identify potential suppliers, obtain approval to make purchases and work with Supply Chain to get the POs issued.
- The Planner will track delivery timing and cost variations of material and service orders. When received, the Planner will make sure cost is properly recognized and materials are properly warehoused.
- The Planner will kit materials as needed and provide them to the project teams based on schedule needs.
Qualifications:
- Requires a high school diploma or equivalent, and a minimum of two years working in manufacturing, procurement, or customer service.
- Must have a understanding and knowledge of Forecasting, FP, MRP, Excel, Theory of Constraints, Master Data, Engineering Change Management, and Inventory Turns.
- Experience in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) is preferred.
- Must be detailed oriented, capable or accurately tracking and actioning many orders and receivables on vastly different timelines
- Must be capable of managing large amounts of data and have the ability to review data, analyze it and preemptively identify and resolve issues.
- Must have strong Excel skills and capable of quickly learning many company-specific computer systems.
- Must have strong interpersonal skills capable of dealing with vendors, procurement, finance and handling the demand from multiple members of multiple project teams.
