Heavy Equipment Operator under direct supervision, the Heavy Equipment Operator performs earthmoving duties on a daily basis.
- Pay Rate: $19.00 - $26.00/hour, depending on experience
- Assignment Length: 6-month contract with the high possibility of extension and/or conversion based on performance and other factors.
- Shift Details: 11 hours per day | Monday - Friday (some Saturdays)
Responsibilities
- Observes and follows all safety rules and procedures, including wearing PPE.
- Job tasks, correctly performed, impact indirectly on cost containment, efficiency, profitability or operations.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Valid Driver's license is required.
- 2 years of experience operating Caterpillar 637 scrapers, D9 dozers and 140 patrol, in a mine setting, required or general experience operating Caterpillar D8 dozer and 980 loaders in stockpile setting.
- Must have working knowledge of overburden handling, ore and soil segregation.
- 3 years scraper experience preferred.
- General knowledge of hydraulic principles.
- Basic understanding of earth moving.
- Ability to operate Heavy Equipment safely.
- Ability to take and understand direction.
