The Machine Operator under general supervision, sets up, adjusts, and operates a variety of machine tools which may include numerical control/computerized numeric control lathes, mills, drills, computerized numerical control/numerical control and /or manual machines.
- Pay Rate: Up to $35.50/hour, depending on experience.
- Assignment Length: 3-month contract with a high possibility of extension and/or conversion based on performance and other factors.
- Shift Details: Night shift | 4:30 pm - 3:00 am |Overtime
Responsibilities:
- May be required to read blueprints, perform varying levels of shop mathematics associated with machining operations, and perform inspection procedures to verify work.
- May have a demonstrated expertise in a particular machining process or machine type or work on one single purpose machine which may involve multiple machining processes.
- Perform efficient machine setups and safely operate a variety of machining tools and controls according to project requirements.
- Utilize specialized fixtures and jigs in strict accordance with engineering prints, technical drawings, and design specifications.
- Use precision measuring instruments—including calipers, micrometers, and gauges—to ensure all parts meet exact dimensional requirements.
- Maintain strict adherence to all company safety protocols and quality control standards to ensure a zero-defect production environment.
- Routinely inspect, clean, and perform preventative maintenance on machining equipment to maximize uptime and operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Skills typically acquired through 2-3 years related machining experience.
- Certifications: Hoist certification.
- Machinery/tools used: NC machines. Lathes, Mills, Pneumatic tools, hand tools.
