The Tool Technician I under strict supervision, performs maintenance functions such as repairs on down-hole tools, surface equipment and other production equipment in the application for down-hole tools.

  • Pay Rate: Up to $20.00/hour, depending on experience.
  • Assignment Length: 12-month contract with a high possibility of extension and/or conversion based on performance and other factors.
  • Shift Details: There will be some on-call schedules

Responsibilities:

  • Assembles and disassemble down-hole tools, surface equipment, and other production equipment.
  • Easily navigate computer programs and understand basic digital processes.
  • Maintain a strong awareness of your surroundings at all times to ensure a safe work environment.
  • The use of cranes and hand tools are a constant nature of the environment.
  • Promotes safety awareness and environmental consciousness, and complies with all applicable safety and environmental procedures and regulations.
  • Ensures compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations and guidelines.
  • Promotes and takes an active part in the quality improvement process.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Licensure to drive commercial equipment may be required.
  • Ability to obtain or hold a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) if required.
  • Prior experience working in an oilfield service environment is required but not preferred.
  • Ability to assemble tools step by step while also working around heavy machinery.
  • Strong reading, writing, and verbal communication skills to work safely and effectively with the team.
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
  • General knowledge of and experience using basic hand tools.
  • Strong time management skills, a hands-on approach to work, an open mind, and a team-player attitude.
  • Basic computer literacy and digital skills.
  • Machinery/tools used: Hammers, screwdrivers, drills.
