The Tool Technician I under strict supervision, performs maintenance functions such as repairs on down-hole tools, surface equipment and other production equipment in the application for down-hole tools.
- Pay Rate: Up to $20.00/hour, depending on experience.
- Assignment Length: 12-month contract with a high possibility of extension and/or conversion based on performance and other factors.
- Shift Details: There will be some on-call schedules
Responsibilities:
- Assembles and disassemble down-hole tools, surface equipment, and other production equipment.
- Easily navigate computer programs and understand basic digital processes.
- Maintain a strong awareness of your surroundings at all times to ensure a safe work environment.
- The use of cranes and hand tools are a constant nature of the environment.
- Promotes safety awareness and environmental consciousness, and complies with all applicable safety and environmental procedures and regulations.
- Ensures compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations and guidelines.
- Promotes and takes an active part in the quality improvement process.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Licensure to drive commercial equipment may be required.
- Ability to obtain or hold a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) if required.
- Prior experience working in an oilfield service environment is required but not preferred.
- Ability to assemble tools step by step while also working around heavy machinery.
- Strong reading, writing, and verbal communication skills to work safely and effectively with the team.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
- General knowledge of and experience using basic hand tools.
- Strong time management skills, a hands-on approach to work, an open mind, and a team-player attitude.
- Basic computer literacy and digital skills.
- Machinery/tools used: Hammers, screwdrivers, drills.
