The Associate Laboratory Technician under direct supervision, trains and becomes familiar with the chemical hygiene plan and the current HSE laboratory safety standards.
- Pay Rate: $19.00/hour
- Assignment Length: 6-month contract with a high possibility of extension and/or conversion based on performance and other factors.
- Shift Details: 12 hours day |10 days on x 4 days off |Night and Day shift
Responsibilities:
- Adhere to prescribed safety rules and regulations while performing assigned duties.
- Conduct prototype or laboratory tests following established procedures.
- Learn to build equipment and perform basic material or environmental tests using electrical/electronic, chemical, and mechanical equipment.
- Document test data accurately for reporting purposes.
- Maintain files and documentation related to test equipment and results.
- Ensure that job tasks, when performed correctly, have minimal impact on the organization's viability.
Qualifications:
- Completion of eight (8) hours of college chemistry is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and technical skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines and follow procedures.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate well with colleagues and supervisors.
- Proactive in suggesting improvements and solving problems.
- Scientific curiosity and a continuous desire to learn.
- Adaptability to changes in routine or priorities.
- Ability to follow procedures precisely, even if not explicitly documented.
- Strong written communication skills for writing technical reports, recording data, and clearly communicating results.
- Punctuality and commitment are essential to maintaining laboratory routines and meeting testing deadlines.
- Basic knowledge of laboratory safety, including handling PPE and chemical risks, is expected.
