The Principal Accountant under general supervision, assists in the development of the company's business systems, processes, and controls, including policies and procedures, relative to the location and department assigned.
- Salary: $115,000.00 per year
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Investor Relations department to prepare earnings releases, corporate presentations, and materials for securities analysts, investors, and industry groups.
- Work directly with the External Reporting Supervisor to ensure the completion of team tasks and responsibilities, developing basic supervisory skills.
- Assist in supervising team members by providing job training, guidance, and leading regular discussions.
- Compile, prepare, and review analyses, schedules, and data for the Company’s SEC filings (10-Q, 10-K, 8-K) using SEC filing software (Workiva).
- Lead the preparation and detailed review of the Company’s quarterly Earnings Release, including supporting workpapers.
- Assist with the Company’s Earnings Call Script by reviewing and communicating with the Investor Relations department and upper management.
- Create, update, and review supporting schedules for financial statements and disclosures.
- Prepare and review disclosure checklists under US GAAP and other applicable standards, such as MD&A.
- Lead the completion of XBRL for SEC filings using Workiva.
- Assist in reviewing the Company’s Proxy and other public presentations, such as press releases and investor presentations.
- Coordinate audit requests with external and internal auditors.
- Participate in routine and non-routine functions, including ad-hoc requests, government surveys, process improvements, and ongoing projects.
- Research and resolve complex accounting reports with associated analysis and internal controls.
- Prepare, post, or review journal vouchers for accounting transactions.
- Review and monitor financial transactions for accuracy and timeliness.
- Prepare, analyze, and distribute financial results, including variance explanations.
- Interact and communicate with other departments and business units to resolve financial-related issues.
- Coordinate financial report preparation and business analysis.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or a related field.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in accounting-related roles.
- Knowledge of US GAAP or country-specific accounting principles.
- Strong project management skills and knowledge of financial performance metrics such as CVA/NOVA.
- Understanding of organizational structure and core business operations.
- Proficiency in general accounting, internal controls, risk mitigation, company policy, financial analysis, statutory reporting, forecasting, and financial applications.
- Advanced industry and company acumen.
