The IT Operations Support Specialist under strict supervision, performs configuration, installation and/or repairs of PC hardware and peripherals according to established procedures.

  • Pay Rate: $30.00 - $35.00/hour, depending on experience.
  • Assignment Length: 6-month with a high possibility of extension based on performance and other factors.
  • Shift Schedule: Monday - Friday ; 8:00 am - 5:00 pm; Must have flexibility to sometimes support after-hours meetings and events as needed.


Responsibilities:

  • Technical Setup and Support: Install, configure, and maintain audio-visual equipment including projectors, microphones, speakers, displays, and video conferencing systems. Provide technical support during meetings, events, and presentations to ensure optimal performance.


  • Event Coordination: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand event requirements and provide recommendations for AV setups. Coordinate with external vendors when necessary to ensure all AV needs are met for company events, conferences, and presentations.


  • Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to AV equipment promptly. Conduct routine maintenance checks to ensure all AV systems are functioning correctly and perform repairs or replacements as needed.


  • Quality Assurance: Ensure the quality of audio and visual output meets company standards and expectations. Conduct tests and inspections of AV equipment to identify any issues and implement solutions to enhance performance.


  • Documentation and Training: Maintain accurate records of AV inventory, configurations, and maintenance schedules. Develop user guides and training materials to educate employees on the proper use of AV equipment and troubleshoot common issues independently


Qualifications:

Experience & Education/Certification Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of Audio Visual (A/V) experience supporting, maintaining, and operating A/V systems for large-scale corporate meetings and events.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a PC-related field, including hands-on experience with hardware configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Skills typically acquired through CompTIA A+ certification or equivalent practical experience.
  • CompTIA certifications in desktop and networking support preferred.
  • ITIL v4 certification desirable.
  • Certification in audio-visual technology or a related technical field is a plus.

Technical Expertise & Proficiencies

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Teams, including setup, troubleshooting, and live meeting support.
  • Strong technical troubleshooting skills and the ability to resolve both hardware and software issues efficiently.
  • PowerShell scripting experience for automation and system administration tasks.
  • Experience with PC networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP configuration.
  • Knowledge of Software Asset Management and compliance procedures.
  • Skilled in hardware procurement and asset management processes.
  • Proficient in mobile device configuration and support across iOS and Android platforms.
  • Proficient in Microsoft account management tools, including:
  • My Account
  • O365 subscription processes
  • User account management

Audio Visual & Infrastructure Proficiencies

  • Expert in configuring and managing A/V systems, including:
  • Crestron DM
  • Biamp
  • Shure
  • Experience with installation and maintenance of televisions, projectors, PTZ (pan-tilt-zoom) cameras, and conferencing/collaboration systems
  • Proficiency in network connectivity troubleshooting for A/V and IT infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of structured cabling systems:
  • Design, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of organized telecommunications cabling infrastructure
  • Familiarity with access control systems integration.

Service & Support Tool Proficiencies Needed

  • Experience using ServiceNow for IT ticketing, workflow, and SLA management.
  • Server virtualization experience, including environments such as:
  • VMware
  • Microsoft Azure
  • Amazon Web Services (AWS)

Additional Qualifications Needed:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable working directly with stakeholders, executives, and vendors.
  • Flexible and dependable with a willingness to support after-hours events and meetings as needed.
  • Demonstrated project management experience, with the ability to coordinate tasks and meet deadlines under pressure.
  • High level of professionalism with a readiness to contribute immediately to a fast-paced team environment.
