- Hands-on delivery role across design, quality and construction coordination
- Strong mentoring, support and progression within a people-first builder
- Gain experience delivering projects within sensitive, live community settings
ABOUT THE PROJECT
We’re proud to partner with Levande to deliver the next stage of the Cardinal Freeman Retirement Village in Ashfield, Sydney’s Inner West. Valued at approximately $40 million, this project involves the construction of a five-storey independent living development comprising 41 high-quality apartments within an active, established retirement village.
The project forms part of Levande’s long-term vision to transform Cardinal Freeman into a modern, integrated retirement living community, while respecting the site’s historic character and minimising disruption to residents and ongoing village operations. With the structure phase well progressed, we’re looking for a Project Engineer to take ownership of QA processes and help drive the project through finishes and completion.. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-structured project at a pivotal stage of delivery, with a clear pathway to move onto new build projects within Growthbuilt’s broader pipeline upon completion.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Project Engineer, you’ll play a hands-on role in the delivery of the Cardinal Freeman project, supporting design coordination, quality assurance and site engineering across the build. You’ll take ownership of design coordination, quality assurance, and site engineering activities, helping ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
This role is well suited to a capable Project Engineer looking to deepen their experience on a complex project within a live operating environment, with strong mentoring and support from experienced construction leaders.
YOUR DAY-TO-DAY WILL INCLUDE
- Coordinating design documentation, RFIs and consultant information to support site delivery
- Owning the project’s Quality Management Plan, with clear delegation across the team
- Preparing and managing Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), hold and witness points, and QA sign-offs
- Supporting programme development, lookaheads and forecast updates based on site progress and sequencing
- Monitoring works progress and assisting with short-term planning alongside site supervision
- Reviewing subcontractor works onsite and verifying quality and compliance documentation
- Coordinating authorities, consultants and subcontractors to resolve technical issues
- Providing inputs to monthly project reporting, including programme, cost and risk updates
- Planning and coordinating commissioning, handover and completion activities
- Managing authority interfaces, permits, notices and stakeholder requirements
- Oversee document control, ensuring drawings and records are current and accurate
- Promoting safe work practices and contributing to quality and safety outcomes onsite
ABOUT YOU
You’re a motivated and detail-oriented Project Engineer who enjoys being close to the work and solving problems on site. You communicate clearly, stay organised under pressure, and take pride in delivering quality outcomes.
You’ll bring:
- A degree in Engineering or Construction Management
- Experience as a Project Engineer or Site Engineer on building projects, ideally $20m+
- Exposure to structure, finishes or façade packages, or a strong desire to build capability in these areas
- Strong attention to detail across documentation, quality and coordination
- The ability to work collaboratively within a broader project delivery team
- A proactive mindset and willingness to learn from experienced leaders
Not sure you tick every box? Don’t let that stop you. If you’re ready to step up and grow with the right support, we’d love to hear from you.
