Lifestyle Coordinators have the best job in the world! You will be responsible for engaging with our aged care residents in a range of meaningful lifestyle and social activities. Your purpose is to bring fun and delight into their day and a smile on every face. To do this you will need to tailor activities and choices to meet the resident's cognitive and physical abilities.
You will be responsible for:
- Actively promoting and supporting Greengate's vision to enrich the lives of our aged care residents
- Encouraging resident choice and participation in individual and group activities
- Creating a positive homelike environment that promotes the delivery of social and recreational activities
- Planning events and lifestyle activities for residents, where possible involving the wider community, volunteers, and resident’s family and friends
- Conducting continuous resident assessments to gain a deeper understanding of each resident’s preferences, needs, current hobbies, and interests
- Providing direct resident care during activities such as bus trips, including assisting with personal hygiene and toileting
- Providing direct resident care in relation to assisting with meals service, mobility, and social support
- Ensuring resident safety during activities, including conducting environmental and activity risk assessments and designing a safe work procedure
- Promptly reporting any changes in resident health status to the Registered Nurse on duty
- Maintaining your duty of confidentiality relating to residents, volunteers and employees, ensuring that any confidential information that becomes known through the course your employment remains confidential
- Creating a positive work environment, demonstrating the Greengate values in your daily actions
- Engaging with all team members in a positive and respectful manner, welcoming a culturally diverse team and maintaining a cohesive team spirit

Successful candidates possess the following:
- Completion of tertiary qualifications - Certificate IV in Leisure and Health (Aged Care)
- Previous experience working within a residential aged care facility
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of workplace health and safety
- Proven ability to plan, implement and evaluate lifestyles choices for small groups or individuals
- Ability to empower and engage residents whilst they are living in an aged care environment
- Ability to assess residents' psychological, social and emotional needs to identify any barriers to participation in lifestyle activities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Excellent interpersonal skills; experience interacting with a wide range of people
- Ability to establish and maintain professional and appropriate relationships with residents and their families/representatives
- Commitment to respecting the values, customs, preferences and spiritual beliefs of residents and their families/representatives
- Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English
- Competent using computer systems, including Microsoft Outlook and eCase
- Genuine interest in working closely with elderly residents within an aged care environment
- Current Police Check Certificate (valid within last 12 months)
- Current Influenza Vaccination Certificate (valid within last 12 months)
- Current First Aid Certificate
