About the Role

Love sport, working outdoors and seeing the results of your hard work? Start your career in Sports Turf Management and Greenkeeping with Green by Nature!

Based initially in Brendale, this four-year apprenticeship gives you the opportunity to earn while you learn, combining hands-on experience with formal training and a nationally recognised qualification. You'll work alongside experienced turf and horticultural professionals while developing the skills needed to maintain high-quality sports fields, turf and green spaces.

From mowing and turf care through to irrigation, soil improvement and grounds presentation, you'll gain practical experience across a range of sporting and outdoor environments. No extensive experience is required — we're looking for someone with the right attitude, a willingness to learn and a genuine interest in building a career in the turf industry.

As you develop your skills and experience, you'll have opportunities to continue your career with Green by Nature, with potential pathways into roles such as Team Leader, Supervisor, Site Manager and beyond. 🌱

🛠️ What You'll Learn

Throughout your apprenticeship, you'll build practical skills across sports turf and grounds maintenance, including:

• Turf and lawn establishment, care and maintenance
• Mowing, edging, trimming and general grounds maintenance
• Sports field presentation and maintenance
• Irrigation operation, installation and maintenance
• Weed, pest and disease identification and control
• Soil improvement and plant nutrition
• Safe operation and maintenance of horticultural machinery
• Garden and landscape maintenance
• Workplace health and safety
• Teamwork, communication and professional workplace skills

You don't need extensive industry experience to apply. We're looking for someone who is reliable, motivated and genuinely interested in learning a trade and building a career in sports turf and greenkeeping.

✅ Essential Requirements

• Current White Card or willingness to obtain
• Current Working with Children Check (WWCC/Blue Card) or willingness to obtain
• Australian Citizen to satisfy apprenticeship and training requirements

👍 Desirable

• Current Driver Licence
• Previous experience in gardening, landscaping, grounds maintenance, horticulture, turf or other outdoor work
• Experience operating mowers or other outdoor equipment
• A genuine interest in sport, turf management or greenkeeping
