Turf Maintenance Technician

About the role

This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned turf maintenance technician to join our team and be based on site at Manly Bowling Club. The role will also assist with other smaller sites around the northern beaches as required.

Responsibilities

• Perform regular maintenance tasks such as mowing, aerating, and topdressing to uphold the quality and useability of lawn, turf and open space surfaces.
• Monitor lawn and turf health and proactively address issues such as pests, diseases, and compaction through appropriate cultural and chemical practices.
• Execution and implementation of seasonal turf renovation and recovery program’
• Implement sustainable management practices, including water conservation strategies, and pest management techniques.
• Operate and maintain specialised equipment and machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety.
• Collaborate with other teams to coordinate maintenance schedules, prioritise tasks, and deliver exceptional results.
• Communicate effectively with the client to understand their expectations, address concerns, and provide care and upkeep recommendations.

About You 

You have successfully completed a Certificate III in Sports Turf Management and have recent experience in turf management and/or greenkeeping - if you have worked with bowling greens this experience will be highly regarded.

You are proud of your knowledge levels when it comes to grass species, growth habits, and maintenance requirements. You are familiar with all equipment and machinery used in the turf world, including mowers, aerators, and sprayers.

You have a valid drivers licence, a white card and a Working with Children Check (or are willing to obtain). You may also be asked to undertake the process to obtain a National Police check.
