About the role

This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned groundsperson with exposure to turf maintenance to join our team on a casual basis, working at sites mainly based around the Gosford and Tuggerah areas. The work will be a mix of greenkeeping and horticulture and you will work alongside our existing team members to backfill leave and step in when clients require additional works completed. We are growing our client base on the Central Coast so there could be scope for more permanent work for the right person.

Responsibilities

Perform regular maintenance tasks such as mowing, hedging, aerating, and topdressing to uphold the quality of lawn, turf and open space areas.
Monitor lawn, turf and plant health and proactively address issues such as pests, diseases, and compaction through appropriate cultural and chemical practices.
Assist with seasonal turf renovation and recovery programs.
Follow sustainable management practices, including water conservation strategies, and pest management techniques.
Operate and maintain specialised equipment and machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety.
Collaborate with other teams to coordinate maintenance schedules, prioritise tasks, and deliver exceptional results.
Communicate effectively with the client to understand their expectations, address concerns, and provide care and upkeep recommendations.

About You

If you have successfully completed a Certificate III in a horticulture or turf discipline, we want to hear from you . Alternatively, you may have some great recent experience in greenkeeping or turf management coupled with amazing knowledge when it comes to horticultural practices.

This role could suit someone who is phasing to retirement or someone who wants to work in a casual role while they pursue other passions (study/sport/volunteering).

You must have a valid drivers licence and white card and you may be asked to obtain a Working with Children Check.

Your exposure to greenkeeping practices and hands on exposure to equipment and machinery will be highly regarded. Cylinder mowing experience is the main skill we are looking for - we will be able to teach the right person the other skills required.
