Garden Maintenance Team Leader

This role will see you manage the amazing grounds and facilities of the Sports and Recreation centre at Milson Island, near Mooney Mooney.

This hands on role will see you oversee and undertake all aspects of site operations, ensuring all users have access to a wide range of activities in a safe and tranquil environment.

About You 

• You are a qualified horticulturist (or similar) with a strong background working across high quality sites.
• You have, or are willing to obtain, a valid white card and working with children check. You are also prepared to undertake a national police check - this is an absolute requirement given the nature of this site.
• You are computer literate and have excellent organisational skills.
• You have previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role where you have proven yourself to be able to motivate and develop your team members to get the best out of them. This role will have responsibility for performance management of staff.
• Above all, you have a can-do attitude and thrive under pressure - no two days will be the same in this fast-paced role.

Responsibilities 

• Undertake and supervise all onsite activities providing guidance and support to ensure the needs of the client are met and exceeded.
• Plan, schedule and oversee mowing, edging, pruning, fertilising, pest control and any other requirements across the site
• Collaborate with the client to understand their preferences, address concerns, and provide recommendations
• Conduct site assessments to identify maintenance needs, develop work plans, and estimate resource requirements
• Implement programs for seasonal needs
• Manage inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies
• Provide monthly reporting to management
• Foster a culture of safety
