About Role

As Site Manager at a pristine retirement village located in Winston Hills, you will be pivotal in ensuring the successful execution of garden and turf maintenance activities across the site. You will oversee all aspects of site operations, working with an apprentice to ensure that there are always beautifully maintained gardens and open spaces for the residents to enjoy.

Responsibilities 

  • Undertake hands on work whilst providing guidance and support to your apprentice - ensuring as a small team that the client's needs are met efficiently and effectively.
  • Plan and schedule maintenance activities, including planting, pruning, hedging, fertilising, and pest control, following client specifications and seasonal requirements.
  • Conduct site assessments to identify maintenance needs, develop work plans, and estimate resource requirements.
  • Coordinate with client to understand their preferences, address concerns, and provide recommendations for enhancing the aesthetic appeal and health of their gardens.
  • Manage inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies, ensuring availability and proper maintenance to support operational activities.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all team members.

About You 

You have a Certificate III in Horticulture or Parks & Gardens - as you will be assisting with training and developing an apprentice this is a must.

You enjoy working in a small team and have a strong hands-on background in horticulture. You have a flexible approach to dealing with the diverse needs of a client and have proven excellent organisation skills.

You have a white card and valid drivers licence. You already possess, or are willing to obtain, a working with children check and national police check - these are required at the site due to the vulnerable clients that our customer has responsibility for.

You have recent experience in a supervisory role and have well-honed decision making skills. If you have experience motivating, imparting knowledge to and helping an apprentice bloom this will be highly regarded.
